This might be the worst thing trump actually does, including the Jan 6 insurrection. I’m serious. The implications are enormous. Far greater than a million people will die if even a small but significant fraction of people believe his lies, and act accordingly.
Stay losing America!
All those extra visits are really going to push up profits for doctors and pharmaceutical companies.
But that’s the point, isn’t it?
Also, how are they going to kill your children with preventable diseases if you prevent them?
Trump is just legalizing abortions up to the fortieth trimester!
The parents with resources to make all the recommended well-child visits go to that amount of appointments anyway. The problem is many parents don’t have that level of sustained support and miss many of the recommended appointments. If the vaccines are spaced out, many kids just won’t get many of them.
So each vaccine will be a separate visit, including the ones he plans to separate like the MMR vaccine. So individual visits, complete with individual copays. That surely won’t price people out of going at all, would it? What an unforseen aggression against the poor. 😑
Edit: I forgot preventative treatments don’t have copay so they can screw people this way at least
Preventative visits do not have cost shares. Thanks, Obama.
Oh that’s right I forgot, that’s good at least
And both kids and parents will absolutely love going to the doctor every six months for shots.
Brilliant.
From the guy who said injecting bleach would cure Covid after staring into the sun during a solar eclipse
Edit: to future Internet archivists … YES THAT FUCKING HAPPENED!
Edit 2: of course you don’t believe me because it’s just too goddamn insane to be true, so here’s a fucking picture as proof

We were so fucking close to having a blind president, assuming he wasn’t blinded by doing that and had the best meds available to cure it.
So fucking close

Not close at all actually. You’ll never make me believe that wasn’t staged
Honestly, that’s too risky to stage. I don’t buy that for one second. Long shots like that are fucking hard, wind will make or break a shot at that distance. Even someone as dumb, irresponsible, and delusional as Mr Trump wouldn’t go forward with a plan that had a very real chance of killing him instantly. Planning to have someone shoot you in the ear with a high powered rifle just for the publicity/sympathy? No.
He was never shot in the ear…
The American Academy of Pediatrics and every competent pediatrician don’t give a shit about this impotent cry for attention.
Fact Checked: U.S. Vaccine Recommendations are Appropriate for Children in the United States
Yep. And last time I checked, they don’t work for the federal government, much less the executive branch. This is like an executive order that everyone should wear brown shoes.
Neither does my state’s department of public health, whom I am now trusting with my medical recommendations instead of federal organizations.
Federal used to be much more competent and much less corrupt than state.
State hasn’t changed that much…
also incontinent.
I’m so tired of this republican big brother government telling me what I can and can’t do.
These fuckers are now just trying to kill kids
What are kids worth to Trump unless he can…
Basically: “we have no actual power, but listen to us, not your doctor.”
no power or medical expertise
I want my freedom and privacy back!!!
I’m beginning to think that these are just being shoved in front of the orange idiot and he signs them, completely oblivious to what’s going on around him.
No, he was actually pushing RFK Jr. to do this. I think his numbers are low enough that he’s shoring up support from fringe issue voters. We’ll probably see another attempt at federal transcare restrictions soon.
anti-vax are fringe voters, that recently became "r voters’
It is so weird how antivax went from a crunchy new age woo woo thing to an evangelical thing seemingly overnight
Its definitely the vaccines…not the polluted water table or microplastics that are in everyone.
How ridiculous. That’s literally not even something that falls under the powers of the president or federal government.
There’s apparently nothing that says executive orders have to be legal.
That’s how a lot of the government works though. It’s legal enough to change the way things work.
It’s one branch of government declaring a new way to enforce things from the very top. It always depends on people below actually following through.
Shit, even decriminalization is like that. A city can say, “we no longer want to prosecute people for marijuana” and they literally just tell cops to stop arresting people for it, whether it’s a federal crime or not. And the cops will stop arresting people for it… Usually… And if someone does get arrested for it, the district attorney will probably say “well we aren’t prosecuting for that so let him go”, and that’s that.
It’s similarly “legal”. Someone in power declares a way of doing things and people do it, to a certain extent.
There’s a supposed balance of powers that way. Legislators don’t get to decide 100% how things work. Other branches can make choices. Judges, mayors, governors, presidents.
And obviously, it can get abused, and nothing is stopping Trump from declaring that wearing green on Sunday is illegal, and if he did judges would probably just tell people to ignore that stupid shit.
Legal is a spectrum. It always depends on how it’s going to be enforced in practice, and how severe the penalties are, and how badly people want to do it.
Executive orders should not infringe on constitutional rights. Sadly, our checks and balances have broken down.
Just that little thing called the constitution.
But I guess our checks and balances have voided that social contact, too. -sigh-
Obvious goal is to reduce the number of children who receive all the shots, even if the parents want them to, since every extra jab is unnecessary pain and another potential tantrum.
More importantly, it’s also potentially an excuse for insurance companies to refuse coverage for it. Money is a way bigger influence on parental behavior than upset kids are.
And a separate visit with a separate copay.
… is it wrong of me that I had to read more than the headline to realize that it was vaccine being referred to here…?
In any other country? Yes.
In the USA and from this president I think it’s fair.
Oh I thought he made shooting up schools to close together illegal
