Yes… Autocorrect. Anyway, I’m leaving it

I’m in Texas, where this kind of nonsense is standard. I’ve spoken out at multiple school boards to successfuly stop in-school prayer time. Most of the evangelical folks pushing it grumble about it without understanding that we are saving them from themselves.

The most interesting address was a devout Christian lady who had come from a district where they approved it early. She said one day her daughter came home doing sanitaria and when she complained, the school said that there was nothing they could do. She begged the schools not to make the same mistake.

I use navidrome. You could set it up with individual accounts and use any Subsonic compatible player. I’m not sure what you mean by specific time periods, so I’m not sure about that.

It has a very serviceable web app, and lots of front end clients. I like Tempus on Android, and Strawberry on PC.

I’ve found that navidrome is just more stable and usable than other server apps. Yes, you could do it through Home Assistant or Jellyfin or NextCloud, but those apps are not purpose-built for music. Just my 2 cents.

Delightful, truly. Although I think it may be triggering some past trauma lol

Outrageous! 2319 is an absurd product number for this!

Most of them were killed in December and January trying to do just that. I’ve seen estimates as high as 50,000, but most are reporting 30,000-36,000.

The exact numbers are impossible to verify because Iran shut down the entire country’s internet to cover it up.

I’m literally asking you for a reliable source. You made a very strong claim, and I’m assuming that you have evidence. Please share it.

What is the best place to find reliable information about antisemitism? What does your source report as the rate of antisemitism today vs a decade ago?

Every reliable survey and vital statistics organization I can find points to a sharp rise in antisemitic hate crimes in recent years.

Edit: You’ve been asked more than once to provide even a single source, and refused. So this appears to be based on “vibes.”

Trucks are demonstrably more dangerous than other vehicles on the road.

My unpopular opinion is that truck drivers should pay a higher penalty when they’re involved in accidents. Every moving violation in a truck gets bumped up, one degree, from civil to misdemeanor, from misdemeanor to felony. By driving a pickup truck you are choosing to endanger other drivers on the road.

Following because I am really a beginner myself. That said, I have been self-hosting a dozen or so services for about 2 years now. It is very intimidating to begin.

A docker container is basically a sort of virtual machine stripped down to what is precisely essential for a given container. That means that apps running in docker are repeatable and will run identically on any hardware and software.

When it comes to networking, you can choose to have services exposed to the internet or not. If they are not exposed, you can only access them over a local network. That might be fine for a nightly backup or HomeAssistant that’s only operated locally. It’s a good place to start.

You can also use a certain type of VPN to create a virtual local network. That allows you to access your home server from any connected device. That’s what I do, using Tailscale. It is fine if you are only connecting to the server from a limited number of devices, since each one will need to be logged in to the same network.

I have a boox, and it’s great! I wouldn’t mind having a little one like this that you can basically toss along with you anywhere. Always a few minutes to read a book instead of scrolling.

lol thanks!

It is recording (v), but it’s not producing a recording (n). That will probably turn out to be an important legal distinction.

There will be a lot more legal complications with the summaries because people will have an expectation of reliability. It’s pretty unlikely that they will be consistently reliable enough, or consistently avoid privacy traps, like HIPAA.

Regardless, it’s creepy.

True, but they’re not all creating a stenographic record of everything said in their vicinity. As far as we know

Well done. I’m still trying to make it through Don Quixote, so I get it. I was expecting a quick, fun read, but it is really more like trying to binge a soap opera. sure, it has very episodic chapters, but also a through-line and recurring characters that disappear and come back later, and it just keeps going.

Don’t tell me how it ends, but just tell me if it’s worth it… does it eventually build to something satisfying?

I really enjoy an e-ink display, but I’ve never owned a Kindle. Just doesn’t make sense to me.

In any case, there is a good chance you can unlock/jailbreak an older kindle and make it usable again (arguably for the first time).

Who on their marketing team decided that books and burning go together?
