The Anne Arundel County policy change came after Education Secretary Linda McMahon urged the Justice Department to punish the district, citing parental rights protections.

You have to use fascist diction, so the Nazis get it:

Trump wants to rape your kids in Maryland, Secretary Linda McMahon says she’s ok with that.

According to a Google search, “Federal funding accounts for about 10.5% of total public K-12 school funding”

Probably not an amount worth caving over. The current administration will just use this financing threat to continue to blackmail them on other issues.

10.5 % would be a MASSIVE loss for a public school system. Anne Arundel co. isnt poor (source: I’m close), but a 10% budget reduction would cause serious harm. Hopefully the ‘caving’ is just saying theyll change the rules but then no one actually follows through.

Total public school funding for who? This sounds like an average.

Wouldn’t a district in a poor area be more reliant on federal $?

One of my elementary classes growing up was taught out of a trailer because the school couldn’t afford repairs. I grew up in an extremely poor area.

Edit - wikipedia says in 2010, “The median income for a household in the county was $83,456 and for a family was $97,557. Males had a median income of $63,187 versus $48,750 for females. The per capita income for the county was $38,660. About 3.3% of families and 5.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.9% of those under age 18 and 5.5% of those age 65 or over.[50]”

They’re probably fine monetarily honestly but who knows.
