Federal agents did not have body-worn cameras when a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a Mexican homebuilder who was driving a work van they were trying to pull over in Houston, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said Thursday.
Few photos or videos of the Tuesday shooting have emerged publicly in the days since the encounter between Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and ICE agents in one of the city’s heavily Hispanic neighbourhoods, unlike other deaths involving federal immigration officers. The family of Salgado Araujo, who had lived in the U.S. for more than 35 years, has questioned ICE’s account and called on the agency to release evidence.
In a statement, DHS said the agents at the scene in Houston had not yet been issued body cameras, which it blamed on Democrats and a record government shutdown that was fuelled by President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
Nobody should give an ounce of trust to DHS statements.
States need to start just arresting the dipshits as soon as local police arrive on scene of an ICE shooting, just like they would a civilian. Let the agents deal with getting out, etc. after they’re in custody and processed. The investigation can happen while they’re sitting in jail or post bail just like a normal person.
Because the feds have shown numerous times now that they both won’t do the investigation themselves, and they won’t provide evidence to the states to do their own investigation. So States should just do it from the beginning, make the feds go through the courts to try and justify why they need to handle it despite numerous incidents being completely ignored by them previously.
Why should they follow any rules? Nobody is stopping them before, and there’s no consequences after.
They’re Nazis. There’s historically been only one way to deal with Nazis.
Historically, it even went “ping!” after the last round in the clip, to remind you this was indeed the correct answer to nazis.
On a broader scale, hit their beaches after shelling the absolute shit out of them with naval artillery and airborne bombing, before advancing with your allies to such a degree that the “King Nazi” offs himself in a concrete basement.
