You think the whole purpose isn’t to turn it loose on the US? Get the job done much faster than H5N1.

“Big pharma won’t tell you this, but what you need to do is shove a firecracker lubricated with the blood of 16 Venezuelan Poodle Moths up your butt, light it, and chug a class of lemur semen before it detonates. It is very, very difficult for the plague to take hold in a body that’s been through that” -RFK Jr. probably

Asked what Washington was going to do about the risk of plague spreading from Russia, Trump said he had not spoken to the Kremlin about it.

“I hate to see them having it,” he said, but added: “We’ll help. Everybody who has that kind of a problem, we’ll always help.”

Also Trump: They could take out a city. Let 'em take out Los Angeles, let 'em take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay.

If it’s not clear who he works for, you’re really fucking stupid.

Watching as in wanting to copy the incident? The US watching anything inspires absolutely no confidence.

Highly unlikely. In stark contrast to other warmongering nations Russia’s battlefield isn’t over the ocean.

From my 5 min toilet research the plague still has active cases per year so its not like it was extinct before. Mostly spreads with fleas and rats, which are not that of a problem in the developed world.

This was pneumonic plague iirc. Spread in the air?

      Edit from the article:

      People can be infected through:

      • infected flea bites
      • contact with bodily fluids or contaminated materials
      • the inhalation of respiratory particles.

Really? Pretty sure rats are everywhere and pets in the developed world still need regular flea checks and treatments.

The ramifications of rats and fleas seem less of a problem due to continuous pest control but they’re still very much there.

A lot of rats and fleas aren’t carriers anymore it basically exists in a smattering of regions at this point. Fun fact every once in awhile people in the Southwestern US get infected usually either by bad luck or the occasional insane hippie eating a rat raw, no I am not joking that happens once in awhile. But yeah humans, rats, and fleas were basically in a weird infection ouroboros so when humans broke that chain it helped reduce it massively.

Also fun fact the plague that may have lead to Indo-Europeans migrating into Europe proper was probably spread through human to human contact since rats weren’t all that much of a factor at the time.
