There wouldn’t be so much (bad) news to keep up with if people would just quit doing stuff. Everyone take a break for a while.
To be fair if we all unanimously took a break at the same time, that would generate a ton of bad news. The people who own the news don’t want everyone to be able to do anything.

Well, to be honest, lots of people successfully achieve that very expensive goal, the dead ones are a very tiny minority. So money does buy that almost always.

I think “reasonable metrics and achievable KPIs” works better. You don’t really “achieve” a metric, it’s the scale that measures your achievements. KPIs have achievable “goals”.
