It’s understandable if you take time to talk to people living outside a major city. Most the economic opportunity effectively gets taken by the major city. Rural residents can’t afford to even visit the city, but likely get flooded by vacationing city folk that distort the local economy.

If he wins the primary, there’s a good chance he wins the election as Michigan has had 2 democratic senators for 30+ years, even when Trump won the state a Democrat senator won election.
