There really isn’t. You’re just adding a connotative difference if it’s a socially acceptable reason.

It’s part of setting boundaries and letting someone know that they exist. You aren’t being a dick of someone chooses meth over a relationship. No one is entitled to a relationship, there are plenty of acceptable reasons that could be ultimatums to end a relationship.

7·3 days agoIt’s more about getting truck traffic out of downtown Windsor, and a fuck you to the billionaire that owns the bridge in Detroit.
It depends on the more on what is at stake more than just the ultimatum. Get sober or get out is very different than stop your hobby or get out. No matter how you try to get someone to give up their running club, it’s probably an abusive move.

2·3 days agoIt’s a necessary evil, and it shouldn’t be indefinite or a permanent black mark. It’s definitely a difficult line. The current laws are too restrictive that warning signs can’t be acted upon until it’s too late. Previous laws were far to easy to get someone committed indefinitely with no oversight. We can get closer to a better balance where a 24-72 hour hold could actually be done before someone is holding a gun at a mall or a school. That hold could also be completely sealed so no one could use it against a person.

114·5 days ago- Target gangs holistically. Change drug laws to limit their income potential. Target all levels for prosecution rather than primarily the top.
- Overhaul mental health laws. This is pretty hard to do. It needs to be easier to get someone committed against their will than it currently is, but it also needs to be possible to recover rights after being committed. The institutions that used to do this need to be recreated with better safeguards against abuse of patients.
- Increase exposure to guns at pretty much every age. This is more about accidental shootings. Handling guns in a safe environment reduces the curiosity if kids find one, shooting classes age junior high or high school age would also help reinforce this.
- Reduce gun free zones or require places that ban guns to accept security liability.
- Enforce existing laws, a significant number of shootings have warnings that were ignored by negligent or apathetic administrators or police. Both taking actions that are generally available and legal now, and ensuring accountability for failures would help.

10·5 days agothe primary argument that has been successful for John Deere against right to repair is that if they don’t block it, then farmers will just bypass emissions controls. Bypassing is already a crime, but unlikely to ever be prosecuted.
Similarly the fact an AR15 could be illegally modified is not a reason to ban it.

25·10 days agoIt’s understandable if you take time to talk to people living outside a major city. Most the economic opportunity effectively gets taken by the major city. Rural residents can’t afford to even visit the city, but likely get flooded by vacationing city folk that distort the local economy.
Chicago also has some financial problems the state will likely absorb yo some degree as well which only further inflames the resentment.

Pockets in baby clothes exist to frustrate women.

Gangs aren’t forcing you to buy, but they are causing vandalism, theft, and intimidating the locals from reporting crimes, and generally preventing investment in an area that would improve the local economy. It’s a self reinforcing loop.
