A majority of Latinos still voted for Harris. And that was in a bad year for Democrats. I’m sick of people blaming them when it’s us white people, especially men, who mostly voted for Trump.

The amount of support Latinos should have for Trump is 0%. But people don’t “vote rationally”.

The original idea i was replying to was the idea that “minorities will see how bad Trump is and vote blue overwhelmingly”. The fact there was even a group called “Latinos for Trump” when he was loudly advocating for deportations shows that wasn’t the case.

There were many reasons Trump won unfortunately. I didn’t mean to come off like i was blaming minorities for Trump. But thinking “oh Trump is bad for minorities so they won’t vote for him anymore and swing blue so its ok” seems like a complete misread of the situation, and part of how Trump won both times. Stop underestimating how irrational people can be.

So, is she assuming every single millennial is going to vote Democrat? I’m a Gen X, we had harder times than millennials, but as you got older, your political views, priorities, and just over all attitude about life changes… I started off liberal/democrat…but I’m finding myself identifying more and more to the Right.

Not enough millenials and Gen Z are getting off their asses to vote. There is ZERO good reason boomers + Gen X still comprise the majority voting block.

We just lost the Wisconsin Dem governor primary to an AIPAC allied Dem because of this. Younger people need to get their collective shit together. Its their future that their inaction is fucking up.

Honestly there’s plenty of reason for boomers alone to overwhelm Gen Z and millennials at times. Reminder they make up roughly a quarter of the population still and that’s with leftover silent generation, Gen x, Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen alpha being around. Frankly with that much population disparity it makes sense that they are able to overwhelm in some regions depending on demographic factors.

Then ya throw in Gen x, more specifically generation Jones and ya end up with a bloc that is probably approaching 30-40 percent of the population.

I love that we’re finally getting good progressive candidates and I only hope we’re not one election cycle too late for a free and fair election.

If at all possible, everyone who can should vote early at the election center to make sure whatever fascist plans they have in store will not interfere with your vote, especially in swing states and Dem-leaning districts. Help others vote early by giving rides or otherwise helping them get there.

Don’t depend on mail-in ballots and be concerned about election-day voting at polling places. If you have to wait until the day, go as early as possible. They can’t be everywhere the whole time so their plans will be to pick the places their interference will have the most impact.

Millennials have been able to vote for decades now don’t see it making any difference.

Turns out this generation is just as susceptible to propaganda and misinformation as every prior generation. I guess this means we can stop saying “Blame the Boomers” every time the country shits the bed?

And no Gen Z or Alpha is not going to save anything

Millennials might be the tail end of the Fuck Around generation, depending on how we wrap up the 2020s.

Gen z & α aren’t going to have the luxuries of cheap(ish) real estate, surplus fossil fuels, abundant exploitable labor and materials, or a financial sector squatting on the esophagus of international trade. We broke all the post-Cold War levers of international control. We’re very likely going to be dealing with one or two more self-inflicted pandemics, if RFK Jr has his way. And our most lucrative satraps - Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Canada - aren’t going to be in a position to prop us up if we tank the global economy again, like we did in '08, '14, and '20.

Maybe this will curb our worst impulses. Maybe Gen z won’t be as inclined to carpet bomb a Middle Eastern country or a South American coastline if we’ve long since burned ourselves out of anti-ballistic interceptors and seaworthy aircraft carriers. Or maybe they’ll reinvent fascism from first principles and just invade Ottowa because it’s easier. Idfk.

But I do think we’re far downstream of Allen Dulles doing regime change across half the world from a smoke-filled room in Langley. We’re far downstream of white flight into suburban sprawl and every middle-income family owning a fleet of SUVs and everyone having a childhood memory of vacationing in Disney World and this one weird guy becoming a billionaire because he’s the first guy in the country who thought about importing screwdrivers from China. The next generations are not going to have the raw materials to replicate what prior generations performed. They will have to behave differently by necessity.

Many voters have been disillusioned. Why bother voting, if it’s just the same two brands of getiatric cunts.

What seems to be changing, as far as I can tell, is that they’re developing a sense for the power of primaries and more regional elections to shift the position of the less malignant brand.

The best indicator of success is the reaction of the Dem leadership: They weren’t as concerned about losing to the Reps as they were about this “insurrection” threatening their slow, balanced slide by actually tugging on that rope.

Vote by mail if it is an option. Those machines are rigged, Trump and Musk both admitted this before the last election. Mail in voting is infinitely harder to fuck with as there is a human, being watched by other humans, doing the count check.

Absolute delusional and moronic take that got us exactly where we are today.

Why don’t you take a step back, reevaluate your life choices, and rejoin us in reality where neo-liberals aren’t fascists, the fascists are fascists.

If you wanna escape the “lesser of 2 evils” shit, then you and every other young person needs to get off their lazy fucking ass and participate in the Dem primaries. Hong just lost Wisconsin because the younger generation is STILL not showing up in enough numbers to surpass boomers and Gen X.

Until then, stop putting your personal grievances in front of the lives of the millions being massacred by MAGA.

Vote for good candidates and good parties

Only option for that is the Dem primaries.

Like it or not, we exist in a 2 party system. A system that, when it comes to the general election, forces us to choose the lesser of 2 evils. Your grievances with that system doesn’t make that system disappear. Its still there, like it or not, and your inaction and/or wrong actions have dire consequences.

and if your vote doesn’t work fight and boycott the fascists. That’s how you resist fascism

I’ve had enough of these chicken-hawk “leftists” who scream for revolution but sure as fuck would never fight in one.

The red and blue party are cycling in power, if there’s anything that got us here is not doing enough to challenge this system.

The ONLY viable way of destroying the two party system is to support the pro-democracy progressive movement within the Democratic party. That means keeping Dems in power. Even if its just enough to keep the fascists at bay to prevent them from destroying democracy entirely.

I.E. the lesser of 2 evils.

So here we are back at vote for Dems, no matter who, or surrender to fascism. That is your only choice.

Supporting a genocide perpetrated by a racist far-right government it among other things such as spending a trillion in war and spying people with the most dystopian mass surveillance network humanity has ever seen to me scream fascism. If it’s not fascism it’s as much as bad and something we should oppose unless we seek to destroy the world.

And which party is spearheading all of it? It ain’t the Dems.

If you want criminal scum to stop from being elected, encouraging people to vote for them and for their party it’s not how you bring up a change.

Are you seriously pointing to the Dems as the “criminal scum”?

Putting both parties in context, equating them both as criminal scum is like comparing a baby with cancer to a gorilla who can’t cum unless he’s ripping the head off of babies.

This “both sides” horseshit isn’t even just delusional at this point. It is entirely divorced from reality.

Younger generations are being brainwashed by the government as much as boomers and every other person.

Younger people trend progressive. Socialism is the leading ideology of younger people.

The only thing brainwashing young people are dumb fucks telling them they shouldn’t vote for the only viable party that isn’t fascist, in a system where lack of action favors the fascists.

The US government, red and blue administrations cycling in power, has massacred people around the world for decades.

My dude, open your eyes to the now. Both sides are objectively NOT the same in degree of genocide, crime and suppression of the American working class. It is FUCKING DIVORCED FROM REALITY to make that claim.

And that’s not even getting into the fact that, again, between the 2 parties, only 1 has a viable progressive wing.

Sound like you “need to get off your lazy fucking ass” and try to change this corrupted system for good.

I actually am. I’m voting for the only viable party that can change the corrupted system and keep the fascists at bay.

Sounds like you’re coping over how fucking lame, ineffective and moronic your stance is.

The US government is supporting a genocide where kids are being murdered daily, what are you doing to make it stop HazardousBanjo?

Voting against the fascists who took the Palestinian genocide and rose it a genocide against Hispanic Americans, against LGBTQ+ Americans, against the Lebanese, against the Iranians, against the Cubans, etc.

The ONLY viable way of destroying the two party system is to support the pro-democracy progressive movement within the Democratic party.

You do not destroy the two party system by keep supporting it.

So here we are back at vote for Dems, no matter who, or surrender to fascism. That is your only choice.

To me it sound like you have already surrendered to fascism

And which party is spearheading all of it? It ain’t the Dems.

              both of them

Are you seriously pointing to the Dems as the “criminal scum”?

I am, the previous democratic administration supported and fueled a genocide where thousand of innocent kids got murdered. They didn’t simply close an eye on it, they actively supported it.

              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_support_for_Israel_in_the_Gaza_war

This “both sides” horseshit isn’t even just delusional at this point. It is entirely divorced from reality.

The reality is that as time goes USA is climbing the chart to become the worst evil empire in history, each decade they start a new war where thousand of innocent people get murdered. Red and blue administrations one after another the war machine never stop but get boosted and replenished to start another conflict.

Younger people trend progressive. Socialism is the leading ideology of younger people.

Hopefully they do but sadly many of them are brainwashed by propaganda, US democratic party is as much as progressive as some right wing parties are in europe.

My dude, open your eyes to the now. Both sides are objectively NOT the same in degree of genocide,

Dude both red and blue latest administrations literally supported and fueled the genocide providing israel any sort of help. There aren’t degrees of genocide, if you support the murder of innocent children you are scum on every degree.

I actually am. I’m voting for the only viable party that can change the corrupted system and keep the fascists at bay.

Fascists already rule US. The previous US government knew trump was a pedophile and didn’t do shit about it.

Won’t matter if Trump prevents all future elections (like he LITERALLY promised during his last campaign).

I work at a college and stand by what I said. Having said that, older generations and systems have failed them, but the results are clear.

Maybe not smart but definitely threaded a needle of a number of societal devolutions. I’m hopeful that progressive mindsets toward helping the majority as opposed to the minority become the norm.

We’ve heard this same lie from them every election for decades. Democrats are unifying against the working class
