State lawmakers are mulling a law that would establish commonsense protections for families that give their children a reasonable amount of independence.
We used to cross the border between Quebec and the US to go jump off of a bridge and a set of cliffs over a river on the US side. We would go as a group of five or 10 kids on bmx’s and 10-speed bikes. Border guards never even talk to us. They would just wave us through as we came in. And most of the time they were all smiles.
