This comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House Tuesday for the first time since the U.S. and Israel started bombing Iran in February. Despite the lull in fighting, Britain said its armed forces were ready to defend itself after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps warned the U.K. not to allow U.S. bombers to fly from U.K. bases. On Thursday, the IRGC claimed that the U.S. had flown bombing missions against Iran from Fairford Air Base in southwest England.

    When to world looks at Russia attacking Ukraine, most people realize that there are Russians who are anti-war. That doesn’t negate the fact that ‘Russia’ is in fact to blame, and things are largely viewed on a country to country level, for a conflict between two countries. You might ask ‘Why don’t they kick out Putin?’ And answer ’ Russia has a long history of bowing to imperialists’. The thought process is very similar when it comes to how the world views the USA, and Americans, right now.

    The political will of the nation caused this, and USA has a long history of unjustified brutal aggression. You’ve been demonstrating well a big piece of the problem, which is that America thrives on a lack of accountability, and rather than showing shame and humility, such as expressing how ashamed you are of the nation’s actions, or how sad you are that the world begins to view America this way, instead it’s all defensiveness, deflection of blame, and ‘shut up idiot you dont know shit’. It is, and has been, put up or shut up time for a while now, a general strike or similar huge action is desperately needed and the fact that it hasn’t happened can only be blamed on Americans.

      Here’s the thing, I agree with this completely. But it IS NOT what I’m arguing against here. I’m arguing against the people that are saying each individual American is responsible. I’m not misinterpreting what they’re saying, they’re being very explicit.

      These people aren’t differentiating “America” as currently directed by Trump and supporter by Trump supporters. They are blaming ALL Americans.

      Can I say that every member of the UK is responsible for Brexit and that I think every man, woman and child is an idiot for bringing it about? No, that would be wrong - that would being an arrogant and ignorant American.

      But non-Americans ALWAYS get a pass when they act that towards us. People are calling me a Nazi in this thread - are you saying that’s justified?

        I get it, it’s a shitty situation, and it sucks being lumped in with Nazis. Your responses here don’t help. You are playing the rude, standoffish yank, and that fits the ‘all americans’ narrative perfectly. Gives ‘not all men’ vibes.

        All US citizens (myself included) feed the evil empire and share some of the blame. I’ve had many conversations with those who despise Trump, but still prop up his neo Nazi movement though defensiveness, American exceptionalism, and shit talking other countries in response to grievous unfair actions of the USA, rather than offering up humility and contrition. America’s unchecked aggression is a matter or both style and substance, if you dont agree with their substance, then don’t get mad and use their style. If, given the depths to which the USA has sank, Americans still can’t say ‘we are all implicated’ then the national strike moment will never come.

          With all due respect, I think I have a reason to be upset. It’s entirely unjustified. I think calling someone you know nothing about a Nazi just might be considered “rude”. I’m being equated with the greatest monsters in human history because of where I was born. And if I were doing this to people from another country, I have my doubts you would be ready to justify my actions.

          I am not the cause of people calling me a Nazi. The fact that I’m American is the reason. All these people who don’t know me get to trash me left and right and I’m the asshole if I don’t like it. It’s bigotry by definition.

          And frankly, if we’re “Nazis” the rest of world is doing a very, VERY poor job of stopping us. Or doing anything. In fact, I can probably guarantee most of the people calling me a Nazi have leaders that work with Trump and allow him to visit their countries and such.
