In terms of attention, this is still playing to their base. There are far too many bootlickers thinking “they wouldn’t have done this if there wasn’t a good reason, and she looks suspiciously foreign anyway”.

Assuming there’s still due process during and after all of this, which I hope is a valid assumption.
