Attorney says people have threatened to silence or harm ‘Jane Doe’ if she does not withdraw civil lawsuit

The woman who has alleged that ⁠she was drugged ⁠and raped by Cornell University students has been the target of threats, her lawyer said on Sunday.

Thomas Giuffra, who represents the ⁠woman identified as “Jane Doe”, told CNN that people have threatened to silence or harm her if she does not withdraw her civil lawsuit ⁠alleging that several members of a Cornell fraternity drugged and raped her in 2024.

“She’s received multiple threats,” Giuffra said on ‌CNN’s State of the Union.

Giuffra ‌said he had also been threatened.

    PR wise, they have to think about the alumni donating, and these future “men” that become rich alumni that will donate and increase thier reputation.

      Can’t get past the idea that some parents would not want their son to go to Cornell because the school wouldn’t protect him when he rapes. Like, maybe focus more on teaching your child not to rape. Or that a graduate’s alumni pride is centered on how much raping the school afforded them over the years. That they would donate more but there was that one semester where their raping numbers were down…

        schools only ever care about donations. even our CC when i was in 2000s, had bunch of rich alumni come every now and then to the school. and to stroke thier own ego, they donate to a specific building that has to be built in thier specifications only.
