On Tuesday, President Donald Trump and top AI leaders announced a signed pledge called a “Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities” — a voluntary promise to implement more controls and safety measures as the rapid development of artificial intelligence continues. But there seems to be a catch.
This document has no significance though. You could argue it is gives a carte blanche to AI companies and is an assurance that there will be no US government regulations on the industry, but that was already the case before this document.
This is just Trump using his office to endorse products, the way he has always done.
“This is the biglyist Tesla car on the Whitehouse lawn. Wowie wow. If I could drive, I’d want one of these. The wheel can even fit in my tiny little baby hands. I gotta force my driver to use one of these.”
