After public backlash, the Trump administration changed its tactics from ‘siege’ to ‘soft feet’. Now, ICE is everywhere
Those who lived through it describe the ICE raids as a “siege” or an “occupation”.
At the height of the raids last year, agents in armored military vehicles rolled through residential neighborhoods. Masked agents patrolled public parks and stationed themselves outside elementary schools; squadrons of ICE agents snatched pedestrians off the streets.
Then, officers killed two US citizens during an ICE “blitz” on Minneapolis. After a public backlash, the Trump administration said it would try a new approach.
Yeah I was thinking this would make a great plot to a movie, if several people abducted some ice agents and took their gear and radios, they could show up to other busts and abduct even more agents until they have a secret prison full of ice agents. They could then arrange deals for prisoner release.
Ehhhhhh.
Or not.
They dont even have the ability to release most of the deported people, only those held domestically.
And do we really want them back on the streets when we could just, like, tear down those incarceration facilities?
I guess knowing our government they wouldn’t negotiate w vigilante organization so they would let those ICE ass holes die.
