Never mind the importance of the separation of church and skate state

“Why is OpenAI trying to solve hundreds of math problems to be released all at once?”, he added.
even if the mathematical content could end up being formally correct.
It should be noted that none of what they released has been verified. Throwing 700 papers out there is intentional to generate buzz, “hey look how great we are”, and to slow attempts at proving or disproving their results. That way even if a few get disproven early they can still say “well that’s just a couple out of hundreds” because it’s gonna take forever to work through the slop dump. It could be a long time before we get a percentage of accuracy and by then most people will have forgotten or lost interest since the headline will be stale by then.
some mathematicians who might find their research projects pre-empted by the OpenAI release. “We should put that aside for today though. … he wrote, because it shows how quickly the technology has become useful to mathematicians.”
Yeah this fucks the researchers. Funding could get pulled from related projects leaving their work in hiatus until someone can check the slop for accuracy. Till then someone can just point to this and say “oh it’s already been solved” like it’s a done deal already.
“Look how useful we are!!!” Turns in unverified crap

…so you came straight to the comments based off the headline?
It’s a great article that basically spends the entire time praising Cosmic for all the great things it’s doing. It does contrast Cosmic with KDE because it’s written by a dev who did things like the frosted glass feature and built a bunch of popular themes for KDE, but they really sell you on Cosmic. After reading it I’m considering giving it a second try, and I’m on KDE currently.
Seriously, go read the article. It’s solid.

A pretty good write up on the cool features of Cosmic from the perspective of a KDE dev. Found it to be very interesting and informative

Yeah except ALL the people who are executed because JUSTICE and later it turns out WHOOPS they were innocent all along. We thought for sure we got the right person.

Pobody’s Nerfect, am I right?

Huh. Interesting read.
The microscopist and forensic expert Walter McCrone found, based on his examination of samples taken in 1978 from the surface of the shroud using adhesive tape, that the image on the shroud had been painted with a dilute solution of red ochre pigment in a gelatin medium. McCrone also found that the apparent bloodstains were painted with vermilion pigment, also in a gelatin medium. McCrone’s findings were disputed by other researchers, and the nature of the image on the shroud continues to be debated.

Unsure about your instance, might just have been the name the creator went with.
It’s part of a federated series of server instances running software such as Lemmy, Piefed, or Mbin/Kbin. Each provides a similar experience with some slight differences between each and each server running one of these are able to interact with each other.
Lemmy and Piefed offer a Reddit like experience
Kbin/Mbin combines magazine style posts with thread posts sort of similar to tumblr
There’s also some integration with Mastodon, a twitter like experience.
This article on Lemmy helps explain how it all works.
But yeah there’s a number of communities such as [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] that you might like if your looking for that type of content.
You’ll notice there will be multiple communities by the same name, and that’s because anyone can open a community on an instance and some people prefer to run their own memes communities and do. There’s lots of options here!
I was actually referring to NOFX, but that’s a solid song too
