As a random guy who’s been tuned into the news about these elections, I think liberals and the left are severely underestimating the power racism and a 3rd Red Scare will have in getting Boomers out to vote nationwide.

As things get tougher and tougher, and Trump’s dipshit cult never blame him for anything, they’ll resort back to their desire to see genocide on our soil and show up to the polls based on that message alone. This is the message they’re using against El-Sayed, Talarico, and virtually all other dems regardless if they’re DSA or not.

We need to not underestimate the power of stupidity in large groups of boomers. Tell all your friends to go vote in person or drop off at all only election boxes, not USPS

Unfortunately there are plenty of non-boomers who think this way too. It’s not really a generational thing.

I would highly contest that rampant racism, fear of communism and Islamophobia aren’t uniquely more prevelant among older generations, especially as older generations so heavily support the GOP for these hateful reasons alone.

Thanks. Following-up on someone else’s comment: is it really just one generation that votes for Trump en masse? I see young and middle aged people (not irl) frequently advocating for him and his, uh, policies.

It’s more that older skew conservative, so a boomer is more likely statistically to be Republican, and they are also more likely to physically be able to vote in person, between the attacks on mail voting and election day not being holiday so most people 18-65 are working.

That said there exist younger fascists, but they are (a very vocal) minority of younger generations.

Others are disconnected from politics in ignorance or lack of time to pay attention.

The propaganda machines have been doing great work for fascism for the last 50 years

That all makes sense, especially what you said about the young vocal minority - i just thought they all looked identical but it’s probably the same few only that I routinely scroll past on feeds.

TBF, that last part about younger may be projection/my own echo chamber, plus I live on opposite side of country in an urban area.
