TBF, that last part about younger may be projection/my own echo chamber, plus I live on opposite side of country in an urban area.

It’s more that older skew conservative, so a boomer is more likely statistically to be Republican, and they are also more likely to physically be able to vote in person, between the attacks on mail voting and election day not being holiday so most people 18-65 are working.

That said there exist younger fascists, but they are (a very vocal) minority of younger generations.

Others are disconnected from politics in ignorance or lack of time to pay attention.

I think Autarky or isolationism is a lot more accurate descriptor of what he is creating than socialism. Socialism has nothing to do with trade strategy/methodology after all.
