And when does the whole “still better than nothing” stop being a viable option when you’re still marching toward fascism with no meaningful resistance from the supposed opposition?

Honestly it’s past time to stop voting for these Republican-lite, fascist enablers.

Literally not possible for me to have voted better than I did in the Democratic primary but thanks for the “advice”

And vote for whom? Republicans LOVE third party candidates because they tend to take more votes from democratic candidates. Run as an independent that is against the state of Israel and AIPAC will come in and fire over 30mil to your opponent and likely end your campaign in most states.

We do see more people running as or adjacent to the DSA so we will see how it turns out.

They really don’t like third party candidates actually. It’s a tossup on whether it hurts or helps them. If they had it their way, it would only be two parties.

That they don’t side with them on other things. The news cycle keeps everyone only thinking about and upset with the last 3 days or so and wipes anything but the most major events that came before. Get rightfully pissed about this, but apathy towards the process because you don’t immediately get what you want instead of incremental change is how we end up alternating between moderate to centrist democrats after a republican majority and republicans after a moderate democratic majority when apathetic voters stay home.

That’s where you’d have to have a coordinated protest vote to be able to focus the message of why you’re doing the protest vote, otherwise it’s an exercise in futility and just the Republican won.

As much as I disagree with the Michigan Abandon voters at the time, still do to a degree mostly due to the whining afterwards, that focused, poignant, abstained really had a outside impact even when overall it did nothing to the overall state election. I think it’s something that really did push progressives forward in this latest primary and why that 30 million fell flat.

I’ll keep looking forward to the next batch of primaries and how progressives and the DSA move forward.

The truly moronic response is the dumbass Republican-lite members who continue to vote the same repeat fascist enabling assholes in the Democratic primary, forcing the rest of us to choose between two fucking fascist every god damn November.

No thanks, tired of your Republican-lite bullshit than keeps slow walking us right into fascism. I’d much rather see a good coordinated protest vote like those Abandon voters in Michigan.

It’s never not a viable option. Voting takes a whole five minutes. There’s literally no excuse to not participate and minimize damage. Whether you decide to do more after that is what this should influence, not whether you vote. If you choose to not vote then you’re just a useful idiot.

Abstaining is propaganda pushed by Republicans. I don’t know if you actually believe the message you’re pushing or if you just bought the bullshit they sold you, but if you actually believe it then you’re only harming your own cause. There’s a reason this message gets spread so much, and it’s because it’s paid for. The only thing abstaining does is makes you feel superior while, in reality, you accomplish nothing.

And you’re the useful idiot that Republican-lite love. Vote blue no matter who, never think about changing the status quo, never hold them accountable for their actions. Just keep on swimming. They love their moderate do nothing useful idiots.

And abstaining from voting as a form of protest is a time honored tradition. But sure go ahead and provide proof that Republicans are pushing abstaining from voting. They’re pushing propaganda about the security of voting to enact laws curtailing the right to vote, plenty of evidence for that. Honestly, you sound like conspiracy theory Republican with your bought and paid message speil, going to blame it on George Soros next?

As far as you state abstaining/protest voting does nothing, I believe it does depending on how it’s done. We’ve certainly seen how it has changed politics with Ross Perot and how it lead to MAGA. We’ve seen how it affected things recently with Dearborn abandon voters and how their stance has accelerated saying fuck AIPAC.

No thanks to your moderate paradise of slow walking fascism, I’ll consider acceleration and live with the consequences sooner rather than later.

Not voting is the second best thing Republicans want next to voting Republican.

Choosing to not vote is still a choice. A choice with identical results to voting R. Wax poetic about useless Dems being Republican-Lite all you want, Rs are still worse.

You keep fucking that chicken then. Keep on voting in the fascist-lite that keeps voting with them to chip away democracy while you cry impotently on social media about how could fascism take hold.

I’d rather join a organized protest vote like those in Dearborn and affect change. But again, keep doing the same thing and expect things to change, I’m sure it’ll happen.

You keep acting like your choice is different. It’s the same result. You ain’t organizing a protest vote. You’re talking up a sit in.

Name a candidate. Push for an actual protest vote. The rest of your nonsense is the same milquetoast critique we’ve seen trotted out every election for at least the 3 decades I’ve been voting. You stand for nothing. Just a popcorn fart you’re confusing with actual discourse. It’s easy to offer criticism, but you’re just another finger pointer who noticed people ain’t doing shit and your solution is to not do shit.

                  Get over yourself.

You’re such a sanctimonious Republican that really can’t hold shit to a debate.

You say I act like my choice isn’t any different from voting for a Republican and yet, look at your self man, you’re supporting people who literally voted for fascism in this vote, people who voted to save Mike Johnson, people who voted to not impeach Trump and that’s just recently, plenty more where that came from with just people like Fetterman and Manchin that your party keeps/kept defending to keep in the party. You guys honestly are just as bad with your Republican counter parts with how much “Rah, rah! My sports team”.

Also, you realize that Primaries are different from the general. You realize that right? And it’s because of do nothing Republicans in the Democratic party like you that keep giving us this fucked up choice two shit fascist sandwiches every fucking time.

Yeah, it took three fucking decades to even start getting over your moderate bullshit and that’s why we’re finally seeing people like AOC, Omar, Pressley, Talib, Bush, Mandami, El-Sayed, Nixon winning their primaries and I’m proud to have donated, voted for, and volunteered for progressives in my twenty years of voting for your shit neo-liberal candidates in the general during that time. I’m actually helping to get real change enacted unlike you and your Republican ilk. As for general elections, I’m done with that bullshit now, writing is on the wall that Republicans can GTFO and if I have to go acclerationist, so be it, I can at least be here living with myself knowing that I didn’t slow walk fascist bullishit like this into office and live with the consequences.

I’ll continue to donate, vote, and volunteer for progressives and continue to never donate another dime to Democrats until the day I die to get rid of do nothing moderates like you who enable fascism in the name of bipartisanship and keeping your corporate donors happy because I know what people like you stand for and that’s doing fuck all to help the working American people and regurgitating tired old noe-liberal, Republican policies that don’t do shit other than make Republicans happy.

Enough playing chess with pigeons for today. Have a good one my Republican colleague.
