For all you cosplayers in the 501st going to Dragon*Con in two weeks, you’ve got an excellent opportunity to be able to take out Flock cameras in downtown Atlanta while blending in with the crowd of other stormtroopers. Might be nice to play as one of the ‘good guys’ for once, right? Just sayin’.
Every time you meet someone with a costume similar to yours in a place that’s unlikely to be recorded, trade a piece of outer gear so anyone analyzing the footage will have a harder time following individual movements. If my key distinguishing feature was a helmet with a blaster scorch mark across the top, have fun tracking that once it’s been exchanged half a dozen times throughout the evening.
Put a pebble in your shoe. Sometimes have it in your other shoe. Sometimes have it in your pocket. Inconsistent gait can make it harder to identify and follow an individual across different videos.
Leave your phone/smart watch/bluetooth vibrator at home.
I know, but I was going with the Star Wars theme of the post. There are a lot of Star Wars cosplayers at Dragon*Con, way more than you’d see at Halloween.
Plus, it’s an additional opportunity to de-Flock, and sooner.

I was shooting at a rebel, but I accidentally hit 4 cameras instead. Whoops.
These blast points are too accurate for sand people, only imperial storm troopers are this precise.
The Force works in mysterious ways.

Maybe I’ll trade some other apparel with the other convention attendees than a closed helmet and their shoes.
I can’t do without it though. I need it.
Gotta get a good buzz going to settle your nerves? I’m sure there’s a suitable anal-og option out there.
That’s the idea behind the Halloween push.

First I have heard of this Halloween push.
Detroit does this every year, on the night before Halloween. We called it devils eve in the 80s.
Detroit removes Flock cameras every year? TIL
They used to remove anything not cemented down, and burn the things that were.
