Yep…which makes me think that the relative lack of popularity has less to do with the game itself, and more the circumstance surrounding its release. There are much worse games that have much bigger audiences.
Hell, the entire ‘controversy’ section on Wikipedia is basically “yeah, this game was made by Russians”

Its a Russian studio releasing a game in 2023…there’s a reason you’ve never heard of it and it has nothing to do with the game.
From what I have seen, it’s a pretty good game.

I also think it’s really easy to assume malice, when the facts state that the vast majority of gamers only buy 1-3 games per year.
Hardcore gamers unfortunately are not the majority, and a Russian Bioshock is definitely aimed at hardcore gamers imo.
Edit: people are also generally easily swayed, saying something is Russian shouldn’t make it bad automatically.
