I am kind of into the idea of having a little screen on the peripheral of my glasses for a heads up display as an interface with my phone. Or even as a full screen mirror for my phone to be able to browse lemmy or watch video while still keeping an eye on my surrounding. I really can’t imagine why they decided they also needed to have it record everyone secretly.

Convenient of them to wear hats with the an actual literal fasces, the original symbol for and namesake of fascism, just to remove any plausible deniability of their intent.

I really try to reach beyond my mediocre American education on international affairs. I’m ashamed to say this one will be a Google for me.

Well two things, 1) It doesn’t matter if they move now. The tax is a one time tax on anyone who was a billionaire living in California in 2025. Moving now does not remove your liability. They will still impose the tax on you even if you’re in, say, Texas now. 2) It is far far far more simple and likely to pass such a tax in the California legislature than in the US Senate and House right now. It would certainly be better to do at a federal level, but they won’t. So then doing it at the state level where you can is better than nothing.

Too cold is always better than too hot. Period.

Get a hot tea. Put on a sweater. Put on a fucking blanket, I don’t care. You can fix being cold. You’re just whining.

I can’t strip down to my underwear and dunk myself into a cool water bath at work. It’s frowned upon.
