Especially if you’re away from the cost, it’s all the worst parts of tropical temperatures without an ounce of the good.
The high right now is 99, the feels like is 109, and having just come inside, there’s just enough breeze right now to piss you off rather than cool you. We have an extreme heat warning from now until the fuckin 3rd, and a lot of us have zero legal protection from working outside in this God forsaken heat.
I’ve been hearing of some local construction crews threatening the bosses if they have to go outside in this heat, and I know many people in my industry are currently quitting because our northern us based corporate overlords decided this week to get a stick up their ass about uniforms, insisting upon heavy ass cargo pants, a thick cotton undershirt, an even thicker polo, and the most unnecessarily heavy duty safety vest. My crew of 10 lost 2 people this week because they refused to go out in this bullshit wearing all that. The rest of us also refused, but corporate made an example out of them.
That being said, Louisiana is still worse. And I’d argue most of Alabama.

1·18 days agoYou may need to limit the number of cores you’re giving the game. According to Proton DB, it’s got a gold rating on Linux

I’d try adding
--cores 4to your launch options and reducing it from there if you have issues still. Also seems like Proton 10.0-3 is the ideal version. If you need assistance getting those setup:
-
In your steam library, right click on Cosmoteer in your games list and click on
properties -
Under Compatibility, make sure
Force Use of Specific Compatibility Toolis checked. SelectProton 10.0-3as your Proton version. If you haven’t used that version on a game before, it may need to download and that’ll take a bit, which is why I’m having you do this first. -
Under the first section in properties (I’m typing this all from memory, apologies), there should be a section that says
launch options. In that text box, typecommand% --cores 4 -
Launch the game. If it works, great! If not, try reducing the number after
--coresin your launch options to2. If it continues not working, try switching to Proton experimental. If it continues not working, I’m out of ideas unfortunately.

I think that was the commenter’s intent, so don’t feel too bad
