The difference is you are buying into a system with a specific setup. PS5 has a disc drive so you want physical media for whatever reason. Now the drive and the system for purchasing games is changing mid life of the console.
Some people might not have bought the system had this been told at the the release.
It depends on the game (or system).
I never understand people. I have a list of businesses I no longer use no matter what. It really isn’t difficult.
Just think of how much the C-levels at Xbox would shit themselves if game players actually stuck together and didn’t buy the product.
Sometimes I say silly things.
At this point all consoles are dead to me. We only but physical carts for the kids switch one and they are offline as much as possible. I only play indie and retro games because i want to give money to people who deserve it and on systems that can never have these issues. There is enough of both to keep me entertained my entire life.
Where this breaks down is where the AI tech is in this decade/century. Between running out of RAM and the fact these agents barely get marginally difficult tasks (programming wise) done, they won’t be outputting the slop AAA games are today. When you have people making games and most players are pissed at how bad they are and how expensive, we all know that AI built games will be way, way worse and stild as expensive.
