Could you imagine if we got used to that? Started to expect functional government? It’s so refreshing to have even one decent example. I want it so bad.

I took it to mean that feelings are facts - meaning the parent should take it as a true statement about their child’s feelings and not try to argue with them about why their feelings are wrong.

That and punishing gender nonconforming women, cis and trans. Plenty of “masculine” cis women end up getting treated like criminals too.

I accidentally misgendered someone going into a bathroom with me. I was 7, we were both little girls and I pointed her to the men’s room. 35 years later I still feel miserable about it. I learned that day and the shame will never let me forget that there’s absolutely no good reason to question or correct someone’s choice of bathroom. You don’t know them, you don’t know what’s in their pants, leave them to piss in peace.

What? I thought that was the whole point. Incredibly lame.

I’d use them to subtitle everything because i’m deaf

There are some legitimate use cases. I mean as a hard of hearing person I’d love to be able to live caption my daily life (the tech isn’t quite there yet but it’s close). We should be pressuring governments to require visual indicators that they’re recording instead of policing individual users.
