You’d think that an entities senior leadership and investors being populated with openly corrupt, anti-democratic, mentally-ill, psychopathic, megalomaniacal, fascists and pedophiles would be a deal breaker, but most of the political class across Liberal “democracies” don’t have a problem with it.
The entire United Corporations of America is run by a kleptocracy of industry insiders.
If we lived in functional democracies most large multinationals would’ve been split up a long time ago, including Meta.
Instead we live in a grey area of plutocratic corporate dictatorship.
One you achieve a certain level of wealth, you can fail upwards forever, as long as you don’t bet it all. A few million invested can generate a decent yearly wage for life. A few billion can generate tens of millions a year, even at the worst rates.
When you’re at the Epstein classes level of wealth, you can lose billions without consequence.
Further evidence that most CEO’s and SLT’s are just confident, lucky, and born wealthy; not competent, smarter, or much better than average.
It’s the same delusion and corruption from a neoliberal corporate-whore political class that led to every country growing dependent on US tech companies, and Chinese manufacturing. They represent corporations; not their constituents.
If they’d all committed to open source and domestic companies for support and infra, the compounding effect of tens of thousands of engineers across governments working on linux and other FLOSS products would have made everything significantly cheaper and more efficient for all of them in a matter of years, compared to paying a foreign tech company for everything in perpetuity… and that’s before you consider the multitude of other risks and vulnerabilities to national security.
