I know, but it’s what should happen. People hold the power to make it happen but don’t have any restraint to follow through.

If we’re going to transition to digital only, a couple things need to happen.
When we purchase a game, we own it. This is not a long term rental.
If we want to sell it or trade it, we can.

I have an nvidia pc with Linux on it and a steam deck. My PC out performs the steam deck by a large margin. I use stock drivers, no fancy tweaks.

This is going to end badly for Playstation.
This is a defeatist mindset.
Most people accept the enshittification of the world because they do not know better or they just go with the flow. This is why we have so many problems outside of gaming as well.

Who’s yelling at you?

What nonsense? I’ve used nvidia since the early 2000s. There are no more issues than AMD right now.

Not anymore. I’d say there has been massive improvements in the last 3-5 years for Nvidia. This was one of the main reasons I didn’t swap over sooner.
I’ve come to terms with this. I view fomo content as disrespectful and I do not support the companies that use it as a tactic.
People have the power to shut down bad practices if they had even a modicum of restraint. They don’t, so here we are.
Over the decades, I’ve tried Ubuntu, mint, arch, fedora in that order. I would rate my experiences arch > fedora > mint > Ubuntu.
Endeavor os would be my first recommendation, Cachyos then fedora. If you want that classic windows 7 experience and very solid support, I recommend mint. If you need the latest drivers endeavor.
