This is one of the many reasons why a two-party system in a country as large as the US is totally insane.
My dad loved to quote something like “A two-party system may be twice as good as a one-party system, but it’s only one party away from a dictatorship.”
I disagree. The entire system failed. Your leaders blew it when Jan 6 had no consequences. You can’t let a coup attempt go unpunished, because that will only embolden them.
Remember when we believed that “checks and balances” was a real thing. Turns out that, like the Easter Bunny, the evidence of it ever existing is highly circumstantial.
I always like to remind people that in the frog boiling experiment, the only frogs that didn’t react to the temperature rising, were the ones who’d had their brains removed. The other tried to escape once the water hit around 25 degrees C.
Only for the King and the nobility. If you steal baby formula they will come down on you with the full force of the law and if an ICE agent steps in front of your driving car, he’s allowed to execute you with no trial.
So crime isn’t legal, it’s just that some people deserve to be exempt from the consequences.
Electricity is woke unless it’s generated by fossil fuel.
