  • I 100000% will. My parents said she’s been mostly exploring the house. She hasn’t been in it for 4 years, and some stuff has changed. She also has been chasing my parents great shepherd (great Dane and German shepherd mix) around to assert dominance. Their Aussie mix is too dumb to be scared but it’ll probably take one bite from pixel for her to learn to leave her alone.

I learned my little sister has cried tears of joy multiple times to have Pixel back. It’s a great thing for everyone.

  • The only thing I like about Microsoft is that their shit products give me job security.

I get to do an extensive Microsoft Teams training for some middle-aged dudes next week. One of the men doesn’t recognize me as someone who can fix his shit. He straight up says, “Have one of your techs, your guys, give me a call” and I always tell him I am a technician and can handle his problem so he doesn’t have to wait. I use my kindest, sweetest customer service voice to talk to him and he has never once called me by my name despite it showing on his computer when I connect to it. He calls me honey and dear a lot and not in the endearing old person way.

But dealing with him pays the bills so

  • Idk how people can do this. Like, I was invited to a 4th of July party and I wasn’t going to go if I couldn’t find someone to sit with my dogs. I ended up paying my mom to watch them for me. My beagle is terrified of fireworks and he has reactions to emergency anxiety meds, so just sitting with him and keeping him company and hugging him is very important. Apparently he had a great time lol. My doodle doesn’t give a shit about fireworks. She’s just down to do whatever the beagle is doing lol.

  • My phone shit the bed and I decided to just install graphene on the new one. One of the biggest hurdles in degoogling. Now I’m slowly migrating my accounts away from Google. I can’t do it all at once because that’s just too big of an endeavor.

My mom has even started to degoogle a bit and is switching to proton for email and cloud storage. She’s learning a lot about privacy and cyber security from me butching about corpos and dumb end users at work. She had her Microsoft account hacked today and she called me from the store as soon as she got an unknown MFA prompt and I helped her secure her shit immediately. So proud of her. She went home after that and immediately started resetting passwords to literally all of her accounts for different things and even appropriately prioritized them. I’ve trained her well lol
