China has a very weak social welfare system compared to Europe, where (in some countries) UBI already exists for the elderly and minimum income guarantees are much higher than in China, even when correcting for purchasing power. The dibao (less than 200 USD per month) alleviates extreme poverty to some extent but not much more. Its European equivalent goes up to about 2000 USD per month.
What they do here (not the USA obviously) is subtract the uncertainty of the speed camera from your measured velocity. So for example, the camera might record you driving at 80 km/h, but you would be fined as if you were driving 75 km/h (precise numbers may differ).
The odometer of cars is (at least here) actually calibrated upward. So it would show (for example) 120 km/h when you’re actually driving 115 km/h.

Jean Carroll would only have been able to recuperate her actual, proven damages in those systems, and might have been able to force Trump to publish a rectification, but not much more.
On the other hand, a criminal conviction for rape would have been far more likely in many of these systems, if not in this case, then likely in others. For example, it is hard to imagine no investigation being started when someone claims under oath they were raped, as did happen in the US legal system.

Not only is it not a good argument, the real-world data shows a positive correlation between more generous social benefits and more people entering the workforce.
Not only does the Democratic Party have a base, its base is larger and more loyal than those of almost any other party in the world, even in other two-party systems. Voter loyalty in general is extremely high in the US, which is one of the major issues that has led to the current constitutional crisis.
