    If you’re nice to people, they tend to do stuff for you. Like, you could watch somebody’s dog while they’re away on vacation, even if they’re gay, and then maybe they help you move, saving you money on paying movers to help you. Maybe a first actual friendship could blossom.

    I say this mostly jokingly, but I literally get offered free stuff like half the time I go out because I put in the effort to connect on a personal level with service workers. Because they’re people. And it’s really depressing that what that really means is that I’m probably their favorite customer that week and not just the average guest. People should be nicer.
