404 Media is revealing the name of Border Patrol’s predictive policing units, which analyze financial data and have local cops pull people over. The people are not suspected of any particular crime.
Policing that amounts to creating criminals is itself criminal in nature. Giving over discernment to a black box that cannot be predicted or replicated is like using a uncalibratable tool, useless.
This should be rejected outright and those involved and those who developed, and those who signed off should face the punishment they wish to inflict on others.

I’ve noticed a whole lot of businesses now pass the cost of a credit card onto the customer, so at least in those cases, use of cash seems to be strongly encouraged.
I think we all kinda knew DHS wouldn’t be able to fully utilize such a massive budget increase via staffing expenses. This is what it will be predominantly used for: Settling civil rights lawsuits.
A system that allows money to make up for rights being stolen is one in which those who need money are silent and those who don’t are heard.
