          It’s not about getting GTA 5 to run specifically. It just happens to be one of the games that runs awhile before crashing currently and that helps debug and improve the overall emulation of the console. The article gets written because it’s GTA and that’s topical and gets clicks around the hype of GTA 6.

          Not to say certain games won’t be targeted, but getting one popular game working means you need the overall emulator to be good enough to do that even with hacky shit they’ll regret implementing later (cries in PCSX2, at least it’s over now). The other side of the coin is more early attention = more code contributors or patreon memberships.

    And why would you do that when you have a PC version of GTA V available on Steam?

      That’s why this is a particularly good game for emu devs to target, and they usually do things with a PC port before exclusives so they have a point of reference. This is a matter of proof of concept.
