I do think a lot of people force themselves to like it, when it’s “cool” as a young adult. I’d bet most people would pick a different drink if there was no buzz around alcohol.
100%. I never could convince myself to like it and I tried like hell in my early 20s. Then I discovered hard cider, still not better than a soda but good enough to easily get fucked up with.
But then weed became legal and I’ve all but phased out drinking altogether. Besides, it’s too damn expensive
“Cool” or “tough”, I saw it both in my teenage and army days. People are very silly. Being a good family man, responsible father and loving husband, that’s cool; controlling one’s anger, being self-sacrificial, needing little and giving a lot, that’s tough. Oh well. 🤷♂️🙃
