When I went to Italy I thought I must have some sort of perception bias because the Italian trains seemed so much better than any I got in the UK, so I checked the stats and it turns out they are just better. Though going through Milan I did see 2 departures that were delayed by 5 and 17 hours, and I don’t know if that’s better or worse than the cancellations.
