Windows 10 systems will not immediately lose all NVIDIA driver updates. The company says supported GeForce hardware will transition to quarterly security updates after October 2026. These releases will include critical security fixes and continue through October 2029.

So it’s not entirely ending yet.

I don’t see why they even care? Pretty much everything works between windows 10 and 11 without notification. it wasn’t like 98 to Vista craziness.

Security updates. But let’s see what happens when a high-profile game doesn’t work on Windows 10 Nvidia machines.

This happened before, afair. Games specifically requested newer version of the driver. And there was no workaround. At the time it was also very annoying. Because newer driver was performing much worse on some series of cards. And you practically had to choose do you want to play newer game or you want to have better experience in older game. The issue now though, will they really tolerate llm/advertisement/lagfest/vibecoded mess that is win11, or else. The answer for the most part ofc they will, most of the base is the old dog that doesn’t learn new tricks, which is soo damn annoying. But at least maybe some % of skilled users that already have some experience would be pushed to drop win.

Yeah for sure. I will either install a greatly modded Win11 or go ahead to Bazzite. It will annoy me that not all games will work, but most will.
