I remember huge pushback from officers when ballistic vests were first introduced. I was in a police science class and instructors had so many reasons; too hot, too heavy so can’t chase down perps, will impede quickly exiting vehicle (same with seat belts), will give officers false sense of security and are more dangerous. Saw the same in media countrywide.
‘Not following policy’ means they don’t wear their seatbelts. Cops are so fucking stupid.
