I thought Interstellar was about as good as 2001.
As opposed to 2001 I understood Interstellar, which means it must be worse
2001 is one of the rare movies where the book isn’t better but it is important. The movie and book were written at the same time with Clark and Kubrick working together. The book provides additional insights that are difficult to convey in a movie.
