This smacks of ableism. It’s not these peoples fault they were born with a severe developmental disability.

Don’t make fun of them, just celebrate their trying by saying something like “Oh, wow, Billy! I can’t believe you learned so much about politics! You are very smart! Would you like a cookie?”
