Facebook ads and ad-blocking tools have been in a constant clash for years. But it looks like uBlock Origin is stepping away from that fight.

For a hosts file, shouldn’t that be 0.0.0.0?

I mean I do too, but I’ve just gotten around to installing unlock on my in-laws laptop to save them from the deluge of ads and the misadventures of fake ads that are really scams.

As they are reluctant to stop using Facebook, it was the perfect solution.

Assuming that there isn’t a better extension out there for people to switch to, this move might push some people into quitting Facebook completely.

If you’re using uBlock origin, then you won’t see ads anywhere else. Meanwhile on Facebook, every few posts will be an ad.
