      The only valid date format is YYYY-MM-DD.

        Yes, but we can all agree DD/MM/YYYY is far more valid than MM/DD/YYYY which should be taken out back and shot

          I prefer MM-DD in daily usage because the year is generally a given. You’re rarely talking about a specific year, usually just the current year you’re in.

          MM-DD continues on with ISO 8601 in the same format.

            I’m with you, I use ISO 8601 exclusively at work, even in emails and no one has once questioned me on it.

            The problem is the other formats still exist, so MM-DD is ambiguous.
