Ocasio-Cortez, a millennial herself, expects the younger generation will soon tip the scales in American politics.

“Millennials are not punk kids anymore. We’re grown adults with mortgages and kids,” she said. “And we—that generation is starting to be decisive at the polls. And there is anger at being ignored, sidelined, having our economic futures mortgaged by the generations that came before us on everything from the economy to climate. And we’re taking the reins.”

From global warming to debt crisis to lack of affordable health insurance (all intentional), Boomers have definitely overstayed their welcome.

    I don’t have the first clue how I’d determine something like that. Do you? I’m talking about the US Presidential administration.

    Maybe you’re talking about Congress + the actual presidents we always get? The elected officials themselves are all old as fuck.

    Wonder how many of those congressional staffers are millennials? And the executive cabinet, etc., all the many many unelected creatures.

    Your take is shallow and bad and betrays a poor understanding of our government and who actually does the “work” in it.

      Uhh, yeah. Look at how many senators and Congress people there are, then see how many of them are over the age of 50, then divide that number by the total and multiply by 100. Are you 12?

        What you evidently don’t understand is every person you’re describing has large teams of people working for them, and they are by and large ages where the brain still fires on all cylinders.

        Our present gov is rife with millennials, you sound real uninformed or you’re not thinking very hard about who actually does the nitty gritty in the government. The elected official is the tip of an iceberg, and there’s a lotta icebergs.
