Imagine if someone said “I don’t have any knowledge or expertise in this area but I really believed in what these guys were doing and I could see their capacity for greatness so I chose to support their endeavors”. There’s certainly no shame in that.

I suspect the designer was quite frequently overridden by the toddler with crayons.
On one hand, it must be frustrating to come up with a design only for you boss to come and throw it out. On the other, I suspect he’ll wipe away his tears with dollar bills.
