    But I think in the case of corporations it has the tendency to backfire, where they try to push the narrative that people want something (like a digital only console), create fakes and bots to push the narrative that consumers want that, then they release the thing and it fails because consumers don’t want it, and they stay with a surprised Pikachu face that “how come this thing that everyone of our bots was excited about didn’t sell well?”

      I think people are catching on to the tactics, but largely, number still go up for the most part. They may gamble and lose here and there but it’s still working for some. If they can lock people in, in some way, it’s a full win for them. In their mind, they just have to wait out this pesky freedom we all have to wear off and they’re set.
