This would probably land as a fun PR move if Microsoft wasn’t so shitty themselves. As it stands, just seems cynical.
Also, XBOX…is Microsoft…
It’s a practical project, allowing you to access your code when GitHub is down /s
Does it have any advantage over just pulling the repo to a local pc?
No practical purpose but presumably, the discs will be cool collectibles if there is a way to verify authenticity (at least a professionally printed GitHub logo, I assume)
Its totally a PR move, and I’m gonna get my free CD.
Only 1000 will be made. I think the application approval will cost more than the media
And presumably itll be manually burnt, 1000 is a bit short for any kind of automation. I’m guessing I won’t get the CD, there must be 1000 more deserving projects ahead of mine.
I hate Microsoft. But I’m just reposting from reddit
Microsoft is not in a position where it should make fun of other companies shit behaviour.
The new Xbox lead could be dunking all over PS right now, and earning some goodwill after their own shitshow, by announcing physical will still remain for the next gen console. But we all know what the silence means.
even if they did try to capatilize on this scenario, you know full well anything they claim would be bullshit anyways… companies can only lie, decieve and rape you
stop giving them a chance to redeem themselves…
I’m sure playstation is seething with rage because of this epic troll!
