German chancellor Friedrich Merz announced sweeping tax, pension and labour reforms today, including that workers will now be required to get a medical certificate saying they’re too unwell to work from the first day of sick leave.
Workers in Germany used to be able to take up to three sick days without seeing a doctor and could call a doctor for a one-week sick leave letter without an in-person appointment.
Under the new reforms, both options are now banned.

I mean I’m not an idiot, i know they use a democratic system, but there are more than one way of doing it, and they have differing lengths of service. If it was like Canada and they happened to have a minority/coalition government, you could potentially even trigger an early election if there was enough discontent among the people and other parties.
Our last PM in a minority government had to step down after the party started to abandon him and that involved discontent from the populace (edit and then his successor) called an early election.

They single out 1 measure out of 34, publish “the West bad” tonality, and then hail autocratic systems like the one in China as the solution, although the welfare system and labour rights there are catastrophically worse. This is an essential part of disinformation warfare.
