The ACCC has commenced Federal Court proceedings against Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd (Amazon AU) for allegedly breaching the Australian Consumer Law by including unfair contract terms in its Prime subscriptions contracts, and later relying on those terms to introduce advertising to its streaming service, Amazon Prime Video.
Unfortunately Amazon has me locked into their ecosystem with their 5% cash back credit card. After I buy a house, I intend to cancel Prime and cancel the credit card, as I’ll be able to weather that hit to my credit score.
Cancelled my over decade old Prime subscription right after they injected ads into it.
I shop less, and still get Amazon shows, ad-free.
Came here to post the same. It was getting expensive but I was hanging on. The ads were the final straw.
