          Why are people always so shocked at honesty on the internet?

          That person doesn’t know us and shouldn’t care what we think. So they can be honest they almost did something stupid.

          Asking if they really admitted to almost doing something stupid is a million times dumber. Did you really need to ask to be sure, or did you just get giddy because you felt smarter?

          You’re likely not smarter, just too stubborn to admit under any conditions you almost made a poor choice so now you want to pile on the person who admitted it…

          Which is why I’m bothering to make this comment:

          You’re perpetuating a giant social issue. Owning up to real or even almost poor decisions is something that everyone should feel comfortable admitting. There is nothing wrong with that and sharing it allows the group to learn from the experience.

          And if society at large is “the group” we sure as shit need to start trying something besides blond confidence and a refusal to admit we’re not perfect.
