There ARE extremists on both sides, but the entire US political spectrum is so skewed toward the right that these “centrists” are standing JUST outside of the extreme right, and several miles from the closest social democracy proponent, while screaming “DON’T COME ANY CLOSER” to the left, shaking in fear.
Yes. One side wants to extremely secure healthcare as a right for you and the other wants to extremely exterminate minority groups of all stripes.

Tankies aren’t extreme left tho, I’d argue. They’re imperialist totalitarians, which isn’t exactly left. I’d call them centrists at best, but we all know where totalitarianism leads…
