Really poor wording on this article. Most people don’t think “bringing your phone into the shower,” means “leave your phone in the bathroom while you take a shower.”
I read it as number one and still got confused why people did this. I leave it in another room while I take a shower… is that not what people normally do?
Yeah, I always leave the phone outside the bathroom, never even thought to bring it with me. I guess this the new age addiction to bring phones everywhere you go even inside of your own home.

I once got stuck in a shower room because the lock broke, and I’ve spent about 6 hours on something like 3 square meters without any way to contact the external world nor entertain myself. It was just me, bath, shower machine and the sink. I’ve been alone at the house, so I couldn’t ask for help. Also, hot water pipes were being repaired, so I couldn’t take a nice shower/bath while at it, either.
Since then, I always took a phone with me. Just in case, y’know.
For me, if I’m needing to lock the door then I’m not alone, whereas if I’m alone then I’m not gonna bother locking the door so I shouldn’t need immediate access to my phone.
Although, having your phone in a bathroom drawer is probably not nearly as bad as having it in the open room since the steam won’t get to it as easily.

people who read “bringing your phone in the shower” as having the phone in the same room as the shower.
everyone else who seems to think that people are putting their phones directly under the shower nozzle.
