Modern cars are constantly connected to the outside world. This makes them vulnerable to hackers who want to take control of the vehicle remotely. Researchers at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology have found that IT vulnerabilities have shifted from the car’s own computer systems to apps and cloud services connected to it.
I think I mean they have the largest percentage of their cars that are connected to the same homebase… Like…all of them.
Tesla may have the largest percentage of their own cars connected, but they don’t have the most number of connected cars. That would likely be GM with their 30 year old Onstar service.
Tesla has only sold 8.9 million vehicles over the whole life of the company, while GM has over 12 million Onstar connected cars sold.

Valid point… And yes, Onstar is a huge vulnerability…as is pointed out in every movie where a car gets hacked for one reason or another. ;-)
I’m a ford guy, and in my Mustang, the Sync unit is unplugged, because fuck Sync.
